Coyotes can be dangerous and pose a threat to both people and pets. They are most active at night and in the early morning. Young are born in April/May with an average litter size between five to seven pups. Coyotes are potential carriers of distemper, hepatitis, parovirus, mange, rabies, and can also harbor numerous parasites. Trapping and sanitation/habitat modification are the most effective methods of control.
